The Dreamery Gardens is also home to England’s Faery Museum, generally viewed by faery anthropologists as the best in the world. We credit this to Northwood sanctuary being a naturally occurring and self-contained ecosystem with a variety of different species having existed and evolved together over thousands of years, giving us the perfect conditions for research with minimal human interference. In fact, this was the reason Professor Holland founded the society here, as the opportunities for scientific advancement were unlike anything he’d ever seen before.

Immensely popular in the Victorian era due to the ‘cabinet of curiosities’ trend, the museum has only expanded and improved since then. Our extensive collection goes beyond arcane natural history, including not only rare and preserved specimens, but also houses and habitats, clothing, tools and other objects.
It is important for the well-being and preservation of our inhabitants that we understand not only their biology, but also their history, their vastly different cultures, and how they have all evolved and interacted with each other.

Our small but dedicated team of archivists have painstakingly recreated costumes from found fragments, as well as undertaking delicate preservation work on the best preserved pieces. The museum is being added to all the time as we restore and repair fragile items damaged from a century of storage. Visitors can be assured that not only will the museum delight the logical with arcane history, anthropology and science; but will also dazzle the dreamers with all things extraordinary and fantastic.

We will shortly be producing a digital archive of all our Museum pieces.

Stay tuned.
